Why we built this

Weekends with kids in Nairobi can feel like a marathon. Driving from one activity to the next. Waiting around while the kids play. Settling for average food at play zones because there isn’t anything better nearby. Wanting to stay active yourself, but struggling to find something that works for the whole family.

We kept asking ourselves: why does it have to be this complicated?

What if there was one place where the whole family could have a great time together? A café where the coffee is actually worth the visit, and you can still keep an eye on your little ones while they play. A place where parents can jump onto a padel court while the kids climb, explore, and enjoy safe soft play. A space designed for real family life, where play, movement, and great food all come together.

So we created it. Racket & Rascals, where families play, laugh, and connect.

So we built it…

Racket and Rascals is the city’s first 3-in-1 family and sports destination. We combined three things families actually want, quality food, safe play, and active sports, and did each one properly. We are open at New Muthaiga Mall on Thigiri Road, close to Durham International School and surrounded by the families we built this for.

Three professional courts for friendly matches, family games, or serious coaching (advance booking). Whether you’re learning or competing, padel is for everyone and it’s Kenya’s fastest-growing sport.
